My PSA remains less than 0.1, now nearly 4 years after salvage radiation.

Hello! Thanks for this blog--I just found it today after hearing that my best friend's biopsy was positive for prostate cancer. He's only 46, and there's a family history of prostate cancer. So now, of course, I'm in high research mode, determined to find out everything I can! He's in Australia, so it will be interesting to me to see how the medical approach resembles or differs from one in the States.

Congratulations on both your successful treatment and your recent healthy gains via weight loss. Have a wonderful year!

Hi Lauri.
I highly recommend the book "Dr. Patrick Walsh's Guide to Surviving Prostate Cancer" (2007 ed.). Walsh pioneered the nerve-sparing prostatectomy. Although he's a surgeon (one of the top in the world) he does not push for it in every circumstance.
Thank you for your kind words, and best of luck to your friend Down Under.
